When rising water threatens your community or facility, you need a partner that can mobilize immediately. Flotech Environmental provides municipal flood response services designed for rapid deployment and efficient drainage system restoration.  Our field teams move fast and bring specialized combination vacuum trucks, portable bypass systems, high-capacity pumps, and field-tested expertise to minimize damage and restore function.

We understand the urgency that comes with a flood emergency. That's why our fleet maintains a state of operational readiness, giving municipalities confidence that help is already on the way. Our long-term partners benefit from our quick response, ensuring priority mobilization when flooding occurs.

Experience You Can Trust in an Emergency

Flotech Environmental has supported FEMA emergency response teams and worked alongside municipalities across Florida and the Southeast United States to mitigate large-scale flooding events. With a fleet of 13 portable pumps, 35 pump and jet vacuum combination trucks, Flotech is prepared to assist HOAs and property managers with emergency flood response. Our trucks have up to 4,500 gallon capacity, and our 4” to 8” pumps can move up 1,500 GPM per unit. We mobilize within four hours of the initial call from our service centers in Tampa, Miami, and Orlando. Our crews mobilize alongside mobile mechanics and are equipped with surplus fuel for 24/7 operations across multiple shifts.

HOAs and Property managers who are set up with a preventative maintenance program and schedule benefit from priority access to Flotech Emergency Services. In addition to bypass pumping and flood cleanup, Flotech also performs cured-in-place-pipeline (CIPP rehabilitations, even during a storm. CIPP allows Flotech to repair damaged pipes that are compromising your system, in a matter of hours.

From broken stormwater lines to overwhelmed drainage systems, we bring structured methodology and calibrated equipment to every response.

Stormwater Emergency Response

Florida ranks first in the nation for total acres of lakes impaired for swimming and aquatic life at 873,340 acres, according to the Environmental Integrity Project's The Clean Water Act at 50 (2022). When a flood event overwhelms a stormwater system and forces an uncontrolled discharge, that water drains to receiving waterbodies that are already under Clean Water Act impairment designations. For MS4 permittees, that means a single flood event can compound an existing water quality problem into a documented NPDES exceedance.

Flotech responds to active flooding in progress. Crews deploy portable pumps and combination jet vac trucks onsite during the event to drain flooded areas, clear overwhelmed inlets and catch basins, and restore flow through blocked conveyance infrastructure. Where retention ponds and detention structures are at or above capacity, Flotech provides pump assisted drainage to reduce overflow volume and protect adjacent property. Following the event, Flotech performs jet vac cleaning of affected catch basins, pipes, and structures to remove sediment and debris deposited during high flow conditions, and CCTV inspection to document damage and identify infrastructure requiring repair or rehabilitation.

Why Ongoing Maintenance Matters for Flood Prevention

Flooding rarely occurs without warning. It's usually the result of systems that haven't been maintained: storm drains obstructed by debris, pipelines weakened by age, or infiltration that's gone unchecked. Flotech Environmental helps municipalities prevent failure by keeping critical infrastructure in peak operating condition year-round.

Through regular inspections, hydraulic cleanings, and performance verifications, we identify and correct minor issues before they escalate to major failures. Our municipal flood response services start long before the storm arrives, with preparation that keeps water moving where it should. When your drainage network is maintained properly, it withstands heavy rainfall and protects property and people.

Preventative maintenance also protects budgets. Routine service costs far less than emergency repairs or flood-related property damage. By staying ahead of problems, you extend the life of your system and keep your community operating smoothly.

Sanitary Sewer Emergency Response

During a flood event, groundwater and stormwater inflow and infiltration overwhelm sanitary sewer collection systems. Manholes surcharge, lift stations are overwhelmed, and the risk is a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) to surface waters or into structures. An SSO is an NPDES permit violation and a public health event. When lift stations lose power or exceed capacity, Flotech deploys pump trucks and vacuum trucks to terminal manholes to remove sewage and prevent overflow until the system is restored. Where a force main failure has caused a discharge, Flotech responds with vacuum and pump trucks to recover spilled material and clean the affected area. Following the event, Flotech performs jet vac cleaning of affected sewer segments to clear I/I deposited sediment and debris that accumulate during high flow conditions and restrict capacity going into the next storm.

Emergency Bypass and CIPP Solutions When You Need Them Most

Flooding can overwhelm stormwater and wastewater systems in minutes. Flotech offers emergency bypass pumping and CIPP rehabilitation to keep service active even under emergency conditions. Our crews install temporary bypass lines, manage flow transitions, and perform trenchless repairs without digging up streets or disrupting service.

For HOAs and property managers, flooding is a headache, a possible regulatory concern, and damages infrastructure. Unbudgeted emergencies can affect your whole financial year. Flotech’s preventative maintenance plans help avoid flooding events, but when they do occur under severe weather conditions, our emergency flooding response is available within four hours of your call. When drainage systems are overwhelmed during a flood, water ends up in parking lots, clubhouses, and other amenity buildings. Retention ponds overflow onto common areas or neighboring lots. The cost of a flood event rarely stops at the drainage system. Structural repairs, common area remediation, and neighboring property exposure can follow.
