Frequently Asked Questions

Pipe and Structure Cleaning FAQs

Here are some of the most common questions about our services, response times, and how we support infrastructure projects across Florida.

Flotech provides jet vac cleaning, catch basin cleaning, culvert desilting, deep well cleaning, sewer lift station and wet-well cleaning, sanitary sewer cleaning and slab covered trench cleaning. Pump truck services and emergency flood response are also available, and crews work statewide from offices in Miami Springs, Hollywood, Orlando and Brandon.

A combination truck sends high-pressure water through a hose and nozzle to break up and flush sediment, grease and debris toward a manhole or structure. A vacuum system on the same truck then removes the material and holds it in a debris tank for hauling to an approved disposal site.

Frequency depends on sediment loading, grease, root activity, slope and flooding history. Many owners clean known problem areas more often and the rest of the system on a longer cycle, with extra attention to storm structures before the rainy season.

Cleaning covers sanitary and storm pipe, catch basins, culverts, deep wells, lift stations and wet wells. Nozzles, hose and vacuum equipment are matched to the pipe diameter, structure depth and material being removed. Flotech operates more than 20 sewer combination vacuum trucks.

Debris and liquids are collected in the truck and taken to a permitted disposal facility. Municipal buyers typically ask for a record of the footage cleaned, structures serviced and volume removed, which supports stormwater permit reporting and maintenance budgets.
