pipe cleaning

For Jet-Vac Services our fleet primarily consist industrial vacuum trucks with 4,400 CFM Positive Displacement blowers disposing into 15 CY debris tanks combined with 2,000 psi/100 GPM Jet Rodder pump supplying high pressure pipe cleaning nozzles up to 1,000 LF.

Flotech has capability of cleaning structures and large diameter pipe segments either on or off road.  Our operators are trained how to apply and use the right jetting nozzle to maximize the safest and most efficient solution.   Specialized nozzles are used to move the debris down the pipeline and into the structure. High volume vacuum is then used to remove the debris from the structures and into debris tank which is then disposes to the appropriate government regulated facility.

Concrete, grease, roots, minerals, chemical deposits, tuberculation and protruding lateral pipe connections, cause the loss of cross-sectional areas of the main line conveyance pipes potentially causing sewer backups and overflows. Flotech uses both high speed (up to 50,000 rpm), low torque cutters and low-speed, high-torque auger cutter to clear tough, stubborn pipe blockages.

inspection and assessment

Video Pipeline Inspection

Using video or high definition digital technology, we identify and document deficiencies such as dips, offset joints, cracks, roots, blockages, infiltration, and more. All of our operators are NASSCO PACP certified and produce accurate assessment of pipeline conditions that can help pipeline defect identification and assessment to establish guidelines for proper rehabilitation/repair methods to be developed in need of repair.

Manhole/Wetwell Inspection

Manholes generate a disproportionate amount of inflow and infiltration. We evaluate the manhole lid, frame condition and the frame connection for any structural defects or leak sources. We do this with a manhole inspection camera or a zoom survey camera which capture both visual and dimensional data points, such as a flat scan with detailed images of the manhole wall and point cloud data for 3D visualization.

Lateral Inspection

Residential and service laterals often add to I&I, and careful inspection of private connections can help locate overlooked sources of I&I. Laterals can be accessed from either inside a home using a push camera or from the main line. Lateral launch crawlers are designed to travel down main lines and then launch a secondary camera into laterals.

Laser profiling

Laser profiling, in trenchless rehabilitation, is an accurate method of analyzing damage to an existing pipeline. Laser profiling is used with CCTV cameras, and also as a survey tool, to record and measure the extent of damage within a pipe. Laser profiling is also used to check newly installed pipes before asphalt is laid and the pipeline is commissioned. The two methods of laser profiling are direct measurement and laser light ring.

Smoke testing

Smoke testing involves injecting smoke into a sewer manhole and noting where the smoke comes to the surface. The goal of the test is to identify direct stormwater connections to the sewer system, also known as cross-connections. The smoke is non-toxic, stainless, and odorless.

Flow Monitoring

Flow monitoring is the practice of measuring wastewater flow in the system over time and comparing it with a baseline flow estimate. These measurements are used to determine the amount of I&I in the sewer system. Flow monitoring can be used to identify and prioritize areas for further inspection. Visual inspection methods can then determine the severity of I&I in an area.

Repair and rehabilitation

we offer a broad scope of repairs and trenchless rehabilitation services

With conventional repair methods, plumbers will insist that the entire ground be dug up to clean out and repair a storm drain. But Flotech has the equipment and experience to have trenchless sewer repair and pipe rehabilitation techniques, whereby ensuring that the majority of the landscape is kept intact.

Sectional CIPP

A Sectional Cured In Place Pipe (SCIPP) can save you thousands on your next pipe repair job. It is a resin-saturated felt tube made of polyester, fiberglass cloth or a number of other materials suitable for resin impregnation, is inverted or pulled into a damaged pipe.

Little to no digging is involved in this trenchless process, making for a potentially more cost-effective and less disruptive method than traditional “dig and replace” pipe repair methods.

internal joint seals

Internal joint seals prevent water infiltration in underground pipes. The devices create a watertight compression to stop groundwater from infiltrating into the storm or sanitary sewer lines as well as any existing flow from the sewer exfiltrating out into the ground water table. Flotech has extensive experience and knowledge with the installation of internal joint seals ranging in size form 24” to 96” for municipalities throughout Florida.
